This is where the idea of a ViewModel comes into play.Ħ Comments | Reading Material, Theoria | Tagged: treeview, viewmodel, wpf | Once you stop treating the TreeView as a place to put data, and start treating it as a place to show data, everything starts working smoothly. All of the problems listed in the previous section derive from trying to go against the grain and treat the UI as a backing store. WPF is great because it practically requires you to separate an application’s data from the UI. If you have ever thought that the WPF TreeView is too complicated and doing anything non-trivial with it is difficult, think again! Over the past few days I have been solidifying my TreeView programming techniques, thanks to an invigorating e-mail thread with Sacha Barber, and it all culminated in this article: In a surge of Mahler-inspired geekery, I wrote and published what I consider to be one of my best WPF articles. In WPF, the TreeView control provides a view of a tree. It might seem like a minor difference, but, in my opinion, it represents a significant change of mindset. We can remain focused on the tree data structure, it’s behavior, it’s state, and just tell the TreeView how we want to view the tree. We declare all of this in XAML, and let TreeView handle all the details of applying our styles and templates. We can provide in-depth customizations for how the TreeView renders the items, by setting properties such as ItemContainerStyle to affect properties of every TreeViewItem, and ItemTemplate to specify what each item should look like and where its child items come from. We are not required to focus much on the TreeView, but more on the data we actually care about. At that point, the TreeView will do all the grunt work of creating TreeViewItems and hooking them together for us. The fact that the WPF TreeView supports data binding allows us to create a tree data structure, perhaps of custom ViewModel objects, and provide it to the TreeView control’s ItemsSource property. We can use the TreeView in our WPF programs to literally provide a view of a tree. Granted, at the end of the day, it still has a tree data structure consisting of TreeViewItem objects, but the similarities end there. The WPF TreeView control is very different. WinForms should have a Tree control instead of a TreeView control. By the same reasoning, we should call the Menu a MenuView and the ComboBox a ComboBoxView, but that is not the case. One could argue that the WinForms TreeView control’s name is a misnomer, because it can only show its own TreeNodes. You create a tree data structure in the control, where each node in the tree is of type TreeNode, and the control renders those nodes. The WinForms TreeView control is not really providing a “view” of a tree: it is the tree. After a while, I got used to the name and never gave it much thought, until now. NET 1.0 era, I don’t think any other control had the word “View” tacked onto the end of its name, except for ListView. Why not call it the Tree control? Why did they add the word “View” to the end? At the time, the. When I first started learning about Windows Forms, I thought the TreeView control had a strange name. My recent article about it, which, by the way, is my wedding gift to Sacha Barber, discusses how the ideal way of working with a TreeView is to bind it to a ViewModel, and then program against the ViewModel. I have been thinking a lot about the WPF TreeView control lately. It’s okay if you don’t have something for every item. Maybe you helped plan a school event or led a group project. Now, think about experiences in your own life that match up with the items on the list. Pay close attention to those listed as required. Go through the job description, and write down or highlight all the abilities, skills, and values listed within. You want your resume to match up with what the company is looking for, so start by making a list of the key terms from the job description. Writing a solid resume begins with studying the job description for the role you’re applying for. Match your experiences to the job listing. If you don’t have job experience to list, pick a resume format that includes an education section closer to the top. The bulk of many resumes focuses on job experience, listed from latest to oldest. Here are some steps you can take to create a resume for your first job. For a first job, your resume should concentrate on your academic achievements, as well as any informal work, volunteer experience, or extracurricular activities. Your experience happens to come from outside the workplace. But just because you haven’t had a job before, doesn’t mean you don’t have experience. Many job listings ask for relevant experience. How to write a resume with no work experience If onto another pile, the target card must be next in rank to the highest ranking card being moved however, it does not necessarily need to be the same suit. The rules of the game allow any suited run to be placed into an empty column.Ī suited run in the Tableau may be moved from the bottom of one pile and either into a vacant column or onto the bottom-most card in another pile. When the player manages to arrange a complete suited run from the King down to the Ace, it is automatically placed into a foundation location for storage.Ī column that contains no cards is said to be empty or vacant. All the cards being moved must be the same suit and, from up to down on the screen, must be descending in rank. In Spider Solitaire, groups of one or more consecutive cards are moved at a time within the Tableau. This brings the card into play and can then be moved when appropriate. A card is turned (or flipped) automatically when all cards atop of it are removed. Part of what has to be done to win a game is for the player to turn (cause to become visible) all 44 hidden cards in the Tableau. The remaining 50 cards are sent to the Stock. Only the top (bottom-most on-screen) card in each pile is face-up (visible) while all the rest are face-down (hidden or invisible). When the game starts, a pile of 54 cards is dealt into each Tableau column, 6 into the leftmost 4 columns, and 5 into the remaining 6 columns. Spider Solitaire is played with two decks of standard playing cards, for a total of 104 cards. In effect, the goal is to empty the Tableau of all cards. The goal of Spider Solitaire is to build all 8 ordered suits from King down to Ace in the Tableau, each ordered suit is automatically sent to a foundation as it's completed. It's still one of the most played solitaire games today. The computerized version became very popular following its inclusion into Microsoft's Windows 98 Plus. Spider Solitaire is said to have gotten its name from the fact that spiders have 8 legs and the game has 8 foundations. It's played with 52 Hearts and 52 Spades. This version is meant for the intermediate player. Most prefer the Intermediate level, which is played with 2 suits. The Advanced level is played with all 4 suits and is rather difficult to beat. The Beginner level is played with only 1 suit and is relatively easy to beat. There are three different levels of difficulty. The game is played with two 52-card decks of standard playing cards. However, if one is not into hard thinking and just wants to relax and be entertained, the game can be played at an easy level. It's a complex game that requires problem-solving skills to master. Spider Solitaire is a popular card game played around the world. In addition to monsoons, the state also experiences wildfires which can cause widespread evacuations and home damage. You have to purchase a separate policy, which you can find on through Utah insurance agencies selling National Flood Insurance Program policies. Unfortunately, most homeowners policies exclude flood damage coverage. Some areas in Utah experience a monsoon period during the summer and fall, which means seasonal flash flooding. However, you might still want to look into additional coverage for flood damage. Luckily, you won’t have to worry about hurricanes or coastal erosion in this landlocked state. The average homeowner pays just $1,382 per year in homeowners insurance, according to recent data from. Only Vermont, California and Hawaii have cheaper rates. It’s one of the five lowest in the nation in terms of average insurance premiums. Utah, just like with property taxes, is a relative bargain for property owners. In addition to the automatic 45% exemption, homeowners who are low income, disabled veterans, blind or active service members serving outside the state may qualify for further property tax exemptions.Īnother cost you’re responsible for is homeowners insurance. Within your county, there are different levels of government that also have the authority to level taxes, such as cities, school districts and water districts. This determines the market value of your home, which is what your tax rate is based on. You home is appraised by a county assessor at least every five years. Most property taxes in Utah are set at the county level. Homeowners are only taxed on 45% of their home’s assessed value as long as the property they claim is their primary residence. However, your primary residence must be in the state for you to access those low rates. The good news for homeowners is that Utah’s property taxes are among the lowest in the country, with an average effective property tax rate of just 0.52%. As long as you own the property, you’ll be responsible for those two recurring costs. Two costs you’ll want to factor into your budget (on top of your mortgage payment) are property taxes and homeowners insurance. These forms of degradation aren’t just in the bedroom either. This can go further and spill (no pun intended) into other types of kinks like water sports. Such as, for example, licking a shoe, the floor or something else. With the humiliation kink, sometimes the submissive partner may be “punished” for not doing something up to their dom’s satisfaction. Some people love to be shamed verbally like that, it gets them off to be viewed as “lesser than” by someone “better” than them in their wearing the JJ Classic BriefsĢ. Remember in Euphoria when Kat gets paid to make fun of men’s penis sizes on Skype? (Girl boss energy, c’mon SHE-E-O). On the other end - some individuals like to be shamed. like what Kim Richards called Brandi Glanville in Season 2 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: slut pig! Now that’s some kinky shit. Whether it be something as tame as calling your partner “little bitch” or something more extreme. Belittling language and mocking them is especially used in Dom/Sub play. Specific words and phrases that get your partner off are, again, subjective. This could be getting called names in bed by your partner. Here are just a couple of examples of the types of humiliation play that get people’s rocks off. This kink is up for interpretation by the individual as being “humiliated” is subjective and differs person to person. Humiliation kinks or as they’re more commonly referred to as, Humiliation play, is an erotic kink where an individual gets aroused by being, what they deem to be, humiliated. Today we’ll be giving you the rundown on the wonderful world of Humiliation Shop Ball Gags Turns out for some though humiliation doesn’t equate to bad. Whether that’s falling down in front of your crush in high school, flubbing a presentation or even a messy bottoming experience. We all have humiliating moments in our heads that torture us when we think about them. We applied cross-fostering procedures to evaluate the distinct contributions to adult behavioral deficits of prenatal trauma and subsequent postnatal inadequate caregiving. To recapitulate intergenerational trauma experience, we modeled stress by exposing mouse dams in the last four days of their pregnancy to a predator odor. We hypothesized that prenatal stress acts as a priming factor that synergistically interacts with subsequent early-life challenges (inadequate caregiving by traumatized mothers) to exacerbate the tendency for offspring of traumatized mothers to develop psychiatric disorders later in life. Therefore, the goal of this work is to we examine the distinctive behavioral impacts and neurobiological mechanisms of in utero exposure alone (prenatal one-hit stress) versus impaired maternal care alone (postnatal one-hit stress) or combined exposure (prenatal and postnatal two-hits stress). The limitations in our understanding of the neurobiological and pathophysiological mechanisms of stress-induced depression, particularly the lack of measurable biochemical and molecular alterations, hamper effective pharmacological interventions to prevent or ameliorate the behavioral deficits. Yet, it is difficult to test the mechanistic involvement of prenatal stress independent of stress effects on the mother care. On the other hand, maternal stress can affect offspring mental outcomes through prenatal programming, particularly epigenetic mechanisms causing permanent neuronal impairments and poor offspring outcomes that persist throughout life 11, 12, 13. This ambiguity is mainly due to the complexity, superposition, and inseparability of prenatal and postnatal mechanisms that are not mutually exclusive.Ĭonverging evidence from human and animal studies supports that exposure to stress during pregnancy negatively affects maternal behavior towards, and the care of, offspring 8, 9, 10. Whether intergenerational trauma transmission and its negative outcomes are a consequence of in utero fetal neurodevelopment disruptions or from poor maternal care by traumatized mothers is still largely ambiguous. Human natural experiments provide evidence for the devastating health consequences in offspring as a result of exposure during pregnancy to existential and acute trauma such as war and natural disasters 5, 6, 7. Unlike other vulnerable conditions, the deleterious impacts of stress during pregnancy are doubled as they affect the mental health of the mothers and the unborn offspring. While stress deleteriously impacts humans worldwide and attacks all segments of societies at this moment in human history, it is disproportionately devastating to individuals in vulnerable situations such as pregnant women. Major depressive disorder (MDD) affects millions of people globally who have been subject to stress and trauma at some times of their lives. Intergenerational trauma increases lifetime susceptibility to depression and is a major risk factor for developing multiple neuropsychiatric disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and schizophrenia 1, 2, 3, 4. Most strikingly, early pharmacological interventions with acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) supplementation produced long-lasting protection against intergenerational trauma-induced depression. Bioinformatic analyses revealed stress- and hypoxia-response metabolic pathways in the neonates, which produced long-lasting alterations in mitochondrial energy metabolism and epigenetic processes (DNA and chromatin modifications). Striking increases in the mitochondrial hypoxia marker and epigenetic modifier 2-hydroxyglutaric acid in the brains of neonates and adults exposed prenatally to trauma indicated mitochondrial dysfunction and epigenetic mechanisms. The behavioral deficits were associated with profound changes in the brain metabotranscriptome. Good caregiving by normal mothers did not reverse prenatal trauma-induced behaviors, indicating a two-hit stress mechanism comprising both in-utero abnormalities and early-life poor parenting. Normal pups raised by traumatized mothers exhibited similar behavioral deficits to those induced in pups raised by their biological traumatized mothers. Here, we demonstrate that trauma exposure during pregnancy induces in mouse offspring social deficits and depressive-like behavior. Whether intergenerational trauma transmission is a consequence of in-utero neurodevelopmental disruptions versus early-life mother–infant interaction is unknown. Intergenerational trauma increases lifetime susceptibility to depression and other psychiatric disorders. This information may help you determine how to narrow down your search if you do not already have a shelfmark.ģ. Each catalog typically contains an introduction that explains how the manuscripts in its holdings are organized, whether by name, origin, language, or provenance. Some of these catalogs have been digitized but many remain in print form and can be found in reference areas of libraries. Most major repositories have published manuscript catalogs, which list their holdings and give brief descriptions of their contents. For example, a shelfmark for a different manuscript of the Roman de la Rose: Bibliothèque de Genève, Ms. Some shelfmark numbers also include language abbreviations such as "Fr." for French or "Lat." for Latin. For example, the University of Chicago's manuscript of the Roman de la Rose has the following shelfmark: University of Chicago, Ms.Manuscript shelfmarks are typically listed in the following order: name or letters indicating repository location, object type, and manuscript number. This sequence is useful for locating manuscripts on-site in libraries and museums, and can also be used in search engines to search for specific manuscripts in digitized collections. Check for the manuscript shelfmark, or series of numbers or letters (or a combination of both) that determine its place in the library. Medieval manuscripts can be found in several ways:ġ. Any of these steps used individually or in combination with one another will limit search results to manuscripts in the library's holdings that reflect the entered keyterms. You can also narrow a search by selecting an approximate window for the year of publication. Follow the steps above to locate only manuscripts or facsimiles, but try adding additional limits such as languages and location (most manuscripts are held in Special Collections holdings, whereas facsimiles can often be found in the bookstacks). Without a manuscript title you can still browse a library's holdings of manuscripts, by using the advanced search window to narrow the search results. Once on the results page, you can also adjust the finding settings to sort by Relevance, Date Descending, Date Ascending, Call Number, Author, or Title in order to control the results order. Results are a preliminary list of Italian manuscripts in the library's Special Collections holdings. To find facsimiles of manuscripts you can follow the same steps by entering " facsimiles" as the subject instead (although this may not be an option in all library catalogs). If you already know the title of the manuscript you are searching for, limit the search results by using the keywords " archives/manuscripts" (UChicago catalog) or " archival materials" (Worldcat) and changing the search field to subject.
